Report Child Abuse

Report Child Abuse in Alaska to the Office of Children's Services at the OCS reporting hotline at 800-478-4444 or by completing an OCS report form. If you suspect child sexual abuse, you must report it to BOTH the Office of Children’s Services and Law Enforcement.

If you have a complaint with an employee of the Office of Children's Services (OCS) that you are not able to resolve informally, you have a right to access the formal complaint process. Please review this site to determine if this is the right process for you.

DJJ Grievance Procedure

If you have a complaint concerning an action or inaction by the Division of Juvenile Justice that you are not able to resolve informally, you have a right to access the formal grievance process. DJJ aims to treat every youth, family, and victim served with dignity, respect, and with consideration to their cultural values. The grievance procedure is a formal way to ensure your concerns are heard and addressed.

API Grievance Process

Upon receipt of a complaint, API staff will attempt to resolve the issue during the shift in which it is received. If the issue remains unresolved or if the individual chooses, the concern may be escalated to a formal grievance. In such cases, the individual will be assisted in completing a grievance form. Patient Advocate staff or other designated representatives are available to assist in this process as needed.

Alaska Long Term Care Ombudsman

Alaska's LTC Ombudsman program ensures the rights, safety, and welfare of seniors in assisted living and nursing homes. It investigates and resolves complaints from or on behalf of these seniors, and also addresses issues related to the living conditions of seniors residing in their own homes.

Civil Rights Compliance Obligations

Any program or activity supported by Department of Justice funds is subject to compliance with federal civil rights discrimination laws. Civil rights complaints may be reported to the Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Family and Community Services by filling out a Discrimination Complaint Form. Complaints may also be filed directly with the Department of Justice Office of Civil Rights.
