Office of Children’s Services
What we do
OCS works with families to keep children safe at home by strengthening families, engaging communities, and partnering with Tribes. Our staff provide protective services by investigating reports of harm, connecting families with community resources, and initiating legal intervention when necessary. We lead with hope, integrity, respect, and empathy in everything we do.
If you need to report child abuse or would like to open your home to foster children, we are here to help you ever step of the way.
Office of Children’s Services
Our guiding principles
Ensuring the safety, permanency and well-being of children by strengthening families, engaging communities, and partnering with Tribes.
Five Core Components
OCS Practice Model
The OCS Practice Model brings clarity and purpose to child protective services and establishes clear parameters for the safety of children and how families are treated within the system. The Office of Children's Services Practice Model document has been developed to serve as a guide and reference for helping staff, stakeholders, and those we serve better understand the role of child protective services in Alaska.
