Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API)

The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) provides acute, inpatient mental health services for patients requiring hospitalization for a psychiatric crisis.  API is the state psychiatric hospital and is located in Anchorage.  As a specialized hospital, API does not accept walk-in emergency patients; patients with emergency mental health needs should seek out emergency treatment.
