Southeast Region Probation Services
The Southeast region covers the Alaskan "Panhandle", an area bordered by Yakutat in the North, Sitka on the West, and Ketchikan and Metlakatla in the South. The region is divided into three districts with offices in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka. Ketchikan also supervises a satellite office in Craig that is responsible for Prince of Wales Island and Petersburg. Juneau serves as the regional headquarters and is home to the supervising Juvenile Probation Officer IV.
The Southeast Region is focused on providing services to probationers and their families that are in concert with the principles of Restorative Justice. This takes into account the needs of the victims of crime while having criminal offender’s work towards community restoration and ultimately developing competencies within our juvenile clients so they can lead productive and crime free adult lives.
The Southeast Region prides itself on working well within the confines of its own Division as well as with the local community entities worked with on a daily basis. This includes the local police departments and courts, district attorney’s, school districts, as well as residential and community based treatment providers.
It continues to be the goal of the Southeast Region to remain accessible to the public while providing top notch and professional services to our clients and their respective communities.
