Careers in Family and Community Services

DFCS is still hiring!

May 14, 2025 - The Alaska Department of Family and Community Services is still hiring for essential positions. This includes roles in the Office of Children’s Services and positions that provide patient, resident, or food services at 24-hour facilities such as the Alaska Psychiatric Institute, Pioneer Homes, and Juvenile Justice Facilities. These positions are exempt from the statewide hiring freeze that took effect on May 9, 2025.

We remain committed to protecting the health and safety of Alaskans. Job postings that are not affected by the freeze will stay open on Workplace Alaska through their listed closing dates. If you are passionate about serving vulnerable Alaskans, we encourage you to apply.

For details on which positions are impacted by the hiring freeze, please refer to Governor Dunleavy’s Administrative Order 358.
